During the day, the electric energy converted by the solar photovoltaic module is stored, and at night, it is discharged under the command of the controller. Commonly used solar street lamp batteries include lead-acid batteries, gel batteries and lithium batteries. High-performance batteries should have the following advantages: enough cycles of charge and discharge, low self-discharge rate, long service life, strong deep discharge capability, and high charging efficiency. Usually installed on a light pole or buried in the ground, the function of the battery box is to protect the battery in the ground, and the battery will not be corroded by groundwater. Lithium batteries are now the first choice of most solar street light manufacturers, with long lifespan and no pollution.

2. Light source

At present, the commonly used light sources of solar street lights are low-pressure energy-saving lamps, low-pressure sodium lamps, induction lamps, and DLED light sources. Low-pressure sodium has high lighting efficiency (up to 200Lm/w), but it is expensive. LED light source, long lifespan, up to 50,000 hours, low working voltage, suitable for solar street lights. The luminous efficiency is higher, and as technology advances, the performance of LEDs will be further improved. Low-voltage energy-saving lamps have low power and high luminous efficiency, but their service life is only 2000 hours. The induction lamp has low power and high light efficiency. But the voltage is not suitable for solar street lights. High quality solar street lights equipped with led light source would be better for illumination.

3. Solar panel

Commonly used solar panels are generally divided into two types, monocrystalline and polycrystalline. Its function is to convert solar energy into electric energy that can be stored in batteries. The conversion rate of monocrystalline solar panels is 17%, and the conversion rate of polycrystalline solar panels is about 12%. The solar panel should face the sunlight, so the solar panel can fully absorb the solar light and generate electricity. 4. Controller

It connects lamps, batteries, and solar panels in series to make the entire system work normally. The controller has four main functions, the first one is to limit the voltage of the input battery. The second function is to increase the voltage when there is no voltage output, so that the battery can reach a level that can light up. The third function is to control the output period, and the solar street light will turn on at the set time. The fourth function is to adjust the output power, such as adjusting the power of the street light to 20W in the early morning and 100W in the evening. The choice of solar street light controller mainly considers three points: the power of the battery panel, the voltage of the system, the type and power of the lamp.
